Most excited

Just had a nuthatch feeding upside down on the nuts in the feeder. First time I have seen one here. Woodpecker here every day and one day I had three all at the same time - a green. And two greater spotted - wonderful! DL

BBS 2015

Each year the BTO publishes its results from the National Bird Breading Survey (BBS) and the results from 2015 can be found within the BBS-2015 (Acrobat pdf: 2Mb) publication. Previous BBS results can be found on the BTO BBS website.

Colwall Village Fete

The Colwall Bird Survey took part in this years Colwall Village Fete and it was a great pleasure to meet so many people interested in the Colwall Bird Survey. During the course of the day a number of people requested details of where the Field Studies Council (FSC) identification charts for birds and other wildlife could be obtained. Full details of the extensive range of FSC fold-out identification charts and how to obtain them can be found at FSC Charts.

It seems to have been a slow build up over autumn, but I am starting to get something like more usual numbers of autumn/winter visitors. Hence 15 Stock Doves on the patio. Pictures were taken in December. DT
